2 New Family Members!!!

hey everyone! i don't kno if i have told you all that i work at a daycare, but i do! lol. so i work the 3pm - 12am shift. and tonight 2 of the kids accepted Christ!!!! the last couple of weeks they have been asking me to tell them Bible stories before they go to bed and today Kaitlyn (age 9) asked if i could tell them the story about the "Last Table" once i figured she ment the Last Supper i started telling the story and about how Jesus died to save us so we can go to Heaven. Kaitlyn and her sister Danaka (age 7) started asking more and more questions. and eventually they wanted me to pray with them to accept Christ. we have 2 new little sisters in Christ!!!!! Praise God!!! i told their mom what had happened when she came to pick up the girls and she was cool with it; not overly excited but she said that it was fine. she said that they go to church but i'm not sure where she stands in her faith. so prayers for this family would be totally awsome. they also don't live with their dad so that's also something that's hard for them. one thing that totally pumped me up was that the first thing that Kaitlyn said to her mom when she came was "i'm a Christian." Praise God!!! i get to spend part of my day tomorrow at the daycare with these girls. prayers for wisdom would be great cuz these girls have sooo many questions! i feel like partying! i know the angles sure are! God bless!

Hey hows it going?

Hey everyone my name is Kyle Young
I live in Peterborough, Ontario and I am so pumped to be going to Kaleo in Sept. I meet with Bryan Hackelman ( one of Briercrest adminstrators) and his wife on Sunday and yah that got me even more excited. It's easy to get excited about all the out trips and time together, but I my self, am also looking foward to the classes. I have been challeged alot over the last year about my faith. Everytime I get in a discussion with a co-worker ( I work full time right now) or a friend God helps me grow and learn. But I really am looking foward to the classes so that I will be equipt with enough knowledge to find the answer or to know them right away. I know that sounds a little nerdy but It's true. lol
I am also looking forward to all the boarding that we get to try and do. I snowboard as often as possible and I longboard ( an oversized skate board) I have tried wake boarding afew time in my life also i like knee boarding. hopefuly some of you do some of those things and we can push each other to be better in those sports. I love camping and don't get out enough so hopefully this year makes up for it. lol
Well I hope to hear from some of you soon check my profile for my email and stuff like that. Peace

'Sup people

Hey Hey... Ryan Lee here and for those of you who don't know me I am a long time fan of Kaleo... Okay well not that long since it hasn't been around too long, but I do love it and I am excited because this year I have the priviledge no the honor to hang out, work with, and get to know all of you as a Kaleo Student Life Leader. Yes, that's right. God has brought this little asian guy from Vancouver back to Qwanoes on a full-time basis to be a part of the Kaleo Leadership team. I have been reading some of the posts and I am super stoked to meet you! God is going to do incredible things in and through each of us in the upcoming year... Hold on cause it's going to be a crazy year! Hmmm... maybe you would like to know a little about me... well I like to use elipses... but beyond that I am old... I will not reveal my age... but not that old. I am asian... haha sort of. I drive a Jeep TJ - it's a ton of fun. I think I can dance and I love sushi. I grew up in the great town of Tsawwassen and have a double degree from Prairie Bible College. I love working with students, and even more I love seeing what God does when students (and leaders) allow him to work in their lives. What else can I tell you... I have worked with Qwanoes for a number of years, but also have been a part of Pioneer Camps and Camp Firwood. This summer I will be the Head Male Counselor working alongside Amanda and hopefully will have the opportunity to get to know a few of you before the school year officially begins. So pumped... Ryan out.

Meeting future friends

Wow, so I just met Steve in person! He's a fellow Kaleo 4er(we are year four right?) from Van Island but happens to be cousins with my dear friend Riley and here for spring break! I was appaled when my friend told me his cousin is coming to my school next year(small world hey?) I just figured I'd share that one.... Steve also enlightened me to that Camp Qwanoes is not like a big amusement park which it was starting to sound like from the discription of zip lines, the blob, and boats and whatnot. I'm super pumped for wakeboarding on the ocean! I hope we get to go often, I've only been twice but hopefully I'll get to more this summer. Also Mount Washington sounds super! Anybody else snowboard out there? We just got killer amounts of snow up here! Well Peace and love! Lisa out!

Missions Extravaganza

Hey all you future Kaleoers! Thought I'd give another shout out to all of you. Looks like you're all really enjoying this blog and the more I read the more I cannot wait to finally meet you all in person!
We're gearing up for our missions trips here at Kaleo3, and I wanted to ask for all your prayers as we embark on these adventures. The students and leaders are equally excited and nervous to set out and we could use your prayers for safety.
Keep up the great blogging! You guys are awesome!

Moths in March

Hey my fellow Kaleoers!
Wow I can't wait till September!!!! My older bro is currently attending Kaleo and is loving it. The more I talk to him about his time there, the more I can't wait to finally be living out the Kaleo experience! I can't wait to finally meet all of you! Selena and Lisa count me in on the non-band! lol. I love music, but that is definitely not an area I'm gifted in. Wow a moth just flew across my computer screen! ...That's weird. I think there should be a rule about all bugs having to remain outta sight till summer. Anyhow, it's been a while since my first post so I thought I'd drop yall a line. God bless!
Your sista, Keerstin

Selena Rose Phillips-Boyle

Well, although I am technologically disinclined, i figured i should finally take the time to write up about me. Let's see...I am eighteen years old, graduated from high school last year, and am currently taking some courses at a community college in Edmonton (go prairie people!!). I was attracted to the Kaleo program because of the eight-month program, and strong emphasis on leadership and the outdoors! I am stoked to learn how to surf and sail for sure!!
In Edmonton I keep very busy between school, my part-time job, air cadets, and youth group and other church commitments. In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, running, skiing, flying, and drinking chais with friends. I love languages (I can currently speak French, German, and English) and travel (I have had a great opportunity to travel around Europe). If anybody going to Kaleo next year does NoT want to form a band, come talk to me! (everybody so far seems to be very musically inclined, which I am not...)
Well, that is a basic sum-up of me, Selena Rose Phillips-Boyle. I look forward to talking to you guys on this thing over the next few months (if I can figure it out that is...) and meeting all of you in September where we will begin to be challenged by God in a completely new way that I am sure none of us have ever before experienced!
PEACE OUT
